How to Use the Color Editor
The Color Editor lets you customize fabric colorways using AI-powered detection and intuitive tools. View fabric color changes in 3D before sampling or production.
Step 1: Find the Color Editor Tool
- Select a fabric from your library.
- Click the three dots (⋮) and choose “Edit Fabric”.
- Select "Color".
Note: It may take a few seconds for the system to finish analyzing the fabric. The Color Editor will become clickable once AI color analysis is complete.
How does AI color analysis work?
NunoX automatically scans your fabric’s image and detects up to 10 main color regions. These color regions are converted into editable color masks, making it easy to adjust individual colors without manually selecting each part.
Add & Edit Material Colors
Adding Colors:
- Click the “Add color” button to re-generate a new color palette based on AI-detected regions or add your own color.
- Up to 10 colors can be added per material.
Important: If you change colors and then click “Add color” before clicking Update, all edits will reset. The system always analyzes from the original fabric image.
Changing Colors:
- Hover over any color in the palette to preview its mask.
- Select a target color to edit.
- Use the slider or input values (HSB, RGB, Lab, or CMYK).
- Click “Simulate” to preview changes.
Tip:
Select all your color changes and click "Simulate" all changes together at once.
Removing Colors:
- Colors can only be deleted in reverse order — from right to left, starting with the most recently added.
Using Blurred Edge
The Blurred Edge tool controls how smoothly adjacent colors blend.
- Activated automatically when changing a color
- Range: 0–100 (default: 15)
- Lower = sharper edges
- Higher = smoother transitions
Export Color Mask Layers
- Click “Export” to download color masks as .PNG files.
- White areas indicate where the selected color appears.
- The number of exported masks matches the number of color slots in your palette.
Other Tips & Reminders
- Click “Update” to save changes and overwrite the original scanned fabric.
- Click “Reset” to discard edits and revert to the last saved version.
- Fabrics edited with the previous Color Editor will remain unchanged unless re-edited with the new version.
