TG3D Studio charges US$175 per day worked by one of our Technical Designers to digitize garments. For example:
- Two designers each work one day = US$350
- One designer works two days = US$350
A collection of a given number of SKUs (individual garments that can be purchased by shoppers) is created out of a smaller number of Design Projects.
- The following two styles are constructed from the same basic elements (panels), so they can both be created out of one single Design Project. Different colors of a fabric applied to the same garment do not require different/separate Design Projects.
- The following style has a different structure from the preceding two styles, so a separate Design Project would need to be created for this style.
Labor cost per Design Project:
- Typically, it takes ~2 working days (US$350) to create a Design Project for pants/trousers.
- It takes ~3 working days (US$525) to create a Design Project for a suit jacket.
The cost to digitize X number of SKUs depends on how many different Design Projects are required to produce those X SKUs.
Please see the following table, which shows the range in cost for three different hypothetical collections. All collections contain the same number of SKUs (500), but they range from the simplest possible collection to the most complex possible collection for this number of SKUs.
Collection type |
Number of styles |
Number of SKUs |
Number of Design Projects |
Cost estimate (US$350 per Design Project) |
Extremely simple |
2 styles (each style available in 250 colors) |
500 (2 * 250) |
1 (assumes that the two styles are similar enough to be created from one Design Project) |
US$350 |
Realistic |
100 styles (each available in 5 colors) |
500 (100 * 5) |
25 (assumes 4 styles can be generated from each Design Project) |
US$8,750 |
Extremely complex |
500 styles (each available in only 1 color) |
500 (500 * 1) |
500 (assumes only 1 style can be generated from each Design Project) |
US$175,000 |

How can TG3D Studio provide a more detailed/specific estimate of the cost to digitize a collection?
- If you send us some more details about your collection, we can provide a more specific estimate of the cost.
- Which details do you need to provide to TG3D Studio? Please see our Garment Digitization Guide for a list.
- If you do not already have a 3D fitting model, you can simply provide us with a measurement chart for your sizes.
- If you do not already have digital patterns, you can use our PhotoScan service.
- We can provide you with a calibration board so you can digitize your paper patterns yourself.
- But for best results, we recommend that you ship your paper patterns to us. We can then digitize your paper patterns for you.
- Garment details: you can email us photographs of your garments (or a tech pack for each garment, if your garments have not already been produced).
- We will use the information that you send us to estimate how many different Design Projects will be required to digitalize your collection.
What other services can TG3D Studio offer as part of its Technical Design consulting services?
We also offer the following:
- Pattern making
- Customized 3D avatars
- Digitization of fabrics and trims
- 3D rendering
